What can I say about Kent......First of all he was my friend...I met Kent about 1984 or 85 but never played music with him untill he invited me to join in with Kickin' grass about 5 years ago. "What!!!, Blue grass!?!" I never played blue grass, never really liked it, but after he got me into it,I loved it and found out that I really had never met talent untill I had met Blue Grass Pickers and singers and Kent was at the top of the pickers list. I think of Hank Williams, Buddy Holly, Jimi Hendrix, Kent Yarbrough. People with so much talent that for some reason they are taken from us. But Kent was more than a great musician, he was my friend, and along with Kent came more friends. That's the thing about Kent. He could be anybody's friend and could talk about any subject. And he would stand up for you too. Sometimes I sit on my back porch and I'll take my guitar and pick a little and if the breeze picks up a little I think that maybe that is Kent's spirit coming to say hello and I'm ok and lets pick a song together.
